My name is Pauline Stitt. Art has always been a part of my life. When I was a teen, I entertained other young people during church services by drawing comical characters of various elderly people sitting in front of us each week. When I got my first set of oil paints, I found my niche. As an adult I have studied under various artists including Dalhart Windberg and Robert Bateman as well as at the University of Michigan and Muskegon Community College. Art shows and competitions have provided a great place to share my art and I have won many awards over the years. I have taught hundreds of students in the Muskegon and Fremont area both in my home and through community education. Teaching is a great joy to me, providing deep friendships as well as the reward of watching long time students develop their skill and produce many of their own paintings.
My compositions have included lighthouses, old barns, farmhouses and outdoor scenic landscapes as well as still life and floral. I love painting realistic art compositions using vibrant colors. I’m delighted to take on commissioned opportunities for those who inquire.
